I've been trying to understand the motives for having to pass an immigration bill now. Could it be we Americans are becoming too smart for the current political elite? We have many sources of information other than the TV networks and The Washington Post. Are we making it too difficult for the elite to stay in power? Certainly uneducated, unskilled, workers who are dependant on government handouts will be easy to control.

Does President Bush just want to give foreigners a chance to better themselves? Hey that's a great feel-good idea! Although the media tells me we are globally hated, there is a great flood of humanity that wants to be here and enjoy the prosperity that freedom creates. Unfortunately letting everyone in would destroy the USA.

President Theodore Roosevelt had this to say, "The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities." We already have a tangle of special interests ripping this country apart. Why doesn't President Bush realize overwhelming America with a flood of immigrants will only make the things worse for everyone.
